FAQ

What is ApexTrophies?

A trophy tracker that ranks profiles by quality over volume. Your score is rarity-weighted — platinums most players earn don't move the needle.

Do I need an account?

No. No email, no password, no PSN login. You verify ownership of your PSN profile through a simple proof step.

How do I verify my profile?

Search your PSN name, tap Verify, and follow the on-screen steps. Verification confirms ownership and keeps the leaderboard clean.

How are Apex Points calculated?

Each trophy's base value is multiplied by the game's rarity tier, based on its platinum completion rate. Lower completion rate means a higher multiplier. The multiplier applies to every trophy in that title — not just the platinum.

See Rarity Multipliers →

What does 0x mean?

If a game's platinum is earned by 50%+ of players, it contributes 0 Apex Points. No blacklist, no tags — just a hard floor.

Where does rarity data come from?

From PlayStation platinum completion data. Apex uses a game's platinum rarity to determine its scoring tier. When a game exists across multiple regional versions, Apex uses the most representative version tracked on Apex as the benchmark.

How often does rarity update?

On scheduled Rarity Refresh Days. Between refreshes, scores stay stable. On refresh day, Apex checks game rarities against live PSN data and recalculates scores.

Can my score go down?

Yes. If a platinum becomes more common over time, its multiplier may drop on the next refresh. Apex reflects the current rarity landscape.

Is rarity the same as difficulty?

Not always. Rarity is the most objective benchmark available at scale, but games can be rare for different reasons. Some are rare because they're hard. Others are rare because they're obscure, old, or abandoned.

What happens when I sync?

Sync pulls your latest trophy data from PlayStation and recalculates your Apex Points. Your profile updates in place.

What is the Founder Era?

Season 0 — the founding era of ApexTrophies. It's now closed. 132 profiles were verified during the Founder Era and received the Season 0 Founder artifact, which is permanent and never reissued. New verifications are welcome but don't receive Founder recognition.

Why is my profile stuck or showing 'evaluation'?

Large libraries can take longer to process. Check back in a few minutes. If it's still stuck after ~30 minutes, reach out at apextrophies@protonmail.com with your PSN.

Can I delete my profile?

Yes. Visit your profile and use the Delete Profile option at the bottom. This permanently removes your data, stats, and leaderboard position. Your PSN can be re-verified later if you return.

Do I need an email to use Apex?

No. Email login is optional. After verifying your PSN profile, you can add email login for easier sign-in across devices, but PSN verification is the only requirement.

What if my game has multiple regional versions?

Apex uses the most representative version tracked on Apex as the rarity benchmark. That keeps scoring consistent across the leaderboard regardless of which regional version you own.

What is Apex Purity?

Apex Purity is the share of your platinum-eligible library that contributes to your Apex Points score. 100% Apex Purity means every plat-eligible game in your library has platinum rarity under 50%. Games with no platinum are excluded from this calculation — playing them doesn't hurt your purity. Lower purity means more of your library is 0x.

What is the Winner's Circle?

The monthly podium on the Honors page. The top three profiles by Apex Points earned during the month are recognized on the first of the following month at 00:05 UTC. The snapshot freezes at finalization, so rank, stats, and country are preserved exactly as they were when the month closed.

Why didn't my recent trophies count for this week's or this month's delta?

Weekly and Monthly delta only count trophies whose earned date falls within the current period. A trophy earned in March but synced in April still has a March earned date. It updates your All Time score, but it does not count for April's delta, and it cannot retroactively change March's delta. Sync before the period boundary to make sure your trophies count.

Why does my Weekly or Monthly delta differ from the points added after syncing?

The points added after syncing update your All Time score and include every trophy found since your last sync. Weekly and Monthly delta only count trophies earned during the current week or month. So one sync can add a large total to your profile while only part of it counts toward the current leaderboard period.
